Fixora

Property maintenance operations platform for managing work orders, vendors, repair costs and portfolio health.

A warm-neutral, pill-shaped operations dashboard for a residential property manager, shown as two zoomed crops (left and right halves) of the home screen. The data viz is the signature: a range chart whose backlog gap is filled with diagonal hatching that turns orange around the hovered day, a proportional block bar of hatched rounded segments, and a hexagon tile map for portfolio health. Large regular-weight Inter numerals, a black pill for both the CTA and the active nav item, and data that adds up across widgets make it feel calm and premium.

Contrast

A warm-neutral base: #F3F3F1 canvas, white cards, #F6F6F4 inset tiles, #EEEEEC neutral pills and #E7E7E5 hairlines. Near-black #1D1D1F is effectively the brand color: active nav, primary CTA, logo tile and every number. Data uses a four-hue status set (signal blue, apricot, sky, cool gray) that repeats identically across the range chart, block bar, hex map, legend dots and activity statuses, so a color means the same status everywhere. Red and green are reserved for urgency and deltas. Every chip is a tint plus a dark text pair in its own hue (red #FBE9E7/#A8271E, green #E5F4ED/#1A6944, blue #E7EFFB/#1B508A, apricot #FBEFE3/#A35C1F). Red follows meaning, not direction: a cost increase of +6.4% is red because higher costs are bad. The orange dot in the logo echoes the apricot data color. Saturation is low and contrast comes from black type on near-white rather than from color. The flat #D9D9D7 bezel around the app is presentation, not UI.

KPI numerals at about 36–40px regular (48, 137, $84,260, 452). The stat strip is about 30px (134, 97, $19,430, 2.6 days), legend counts about 24px and right-aligned (38, 54, 45, 97), and the mini tiles medium ($6,400, $1,150). Lining figures in default proportional widths (see the narrow 1 in $19,430). Columns line up by right alignment, not tabular figures. Interrupted-stroke $ and comma thousands.

Specimens use a stand-in face of the same class and weight.

Pairing
One family, two weights. Regular sets everything that is content or data (greeting, numbers, body, labels); medium sets the things that name a container or can be acted on (card titles, buttons, pills, list titles). Three text tones (#1D1D1F, #6B6A6D, #87878A) handle the rest. It works because big regular numerals look calm and editorial instead of shouting, while the medium titles still anchor each card.
Hierarchy
From largest down: greeting and KPI numerals (about 36–40px, 400), stat strip numbers (about 30px), legend counts (about 24px), card titles (about 18px, 500), body and nav (about 15–16px), then labels and axis ticks (about 14px, gray). Size carries the data hierarchy and weight carries the structure. Lines are short; the longest is the AI insight at about 55 characters per line.

Are the fonts good? 4/5. Good, and not thin. Inter at 400 and 500 only, with large regular numerals and medium titles, gives a refined, legible, editorial-feeling dashboard. It misses a 5 because Inter is the default choice with no distinct voice, and the lightest gray labels are under-contrasted.

03Layout

Two tight, zoomed crops of one wide dashboard sit inside a flat #D9D9D7 rounded bezel. The app canvas is warm #F3F3F1 with a large outer radius. The sidebar shares the canvas color and is split off by one vertical hairline, with no panel of its own. The main area opens with a header row (greeting and date summary left, toolbar right) and a borderless row of four big KPIs. Below is a 3-column card grid. Row 1 holds Maintenance overview (2 columns) and Work order status (1). Row 2 holds Property overview, Fixora AI insights and Recent activity. Every card has the same header strip (icon tile, title, one action) above a full-width hairline.

Grid
The sidebar is about 17% of the width; the main column has 4 equal KPI columns with no containers, then a 3-column card grid where Maintenance overview spans 2. Inside the cards: a 4-up stat strip, a 7-day x-axis (Oct 12 to Oct 18), a 2×2 legend, a 3-up row of mini stat tiles, and stacked activity rows.
Spacing
Generous. The sidebar has about 24px of padding and rows of about 48px. Header, KPI row and card grid are separated by about 32–40px, and cards by about 20px. Card headers are about 64px tall with a hairline below, and card bodies have about 24px of padding. Pills and buttons are fully rounded, cards about 24px, inset tiles and the tooltip about 16px. Depth comes from three surface tiers (stone canvas, white card, stone inset) plus hairlines. The only real shadow is under the chart tooltip.

  • Dashboard / product UI

Yes. One home dashboard for a property-maintenance product, shown as two zoomed crops: sidebar, greeting header with toolbar, KPI row, Maintenance overview chart, Work order status, Property overview, AI insights and Recent activity.

  • Charts & data viz

Three custom charts. (1) Maintenance overview is a range or band chart between an Opened series (black dots) and a Resolved series (blue dots) across Oct 12–18. The gap between them is filled with thin gray diagonal hatching that turns orange around the hovered day. It has no y-axis and no gridlines, only a dashed vertical crosshair, enlarged rounded-square markers and a floating tooltip. (2) Work order status is a proportional block bar: four tall rounded rectangles whose widths match the counts (38, 54, 45, 97), each a flat color with faint white diagonal hatching. (3) Property overview is a hexagon tile map (hex waffle) with empty #EEEEEC cells and filled cells in gray, blue, peach and apricot. It is cropped at the bottom, so no legend is visible.

  • Icons

Outline icons with rounded caps and about a 1.5px stroke, very likely Hugeicons Stroke Rounded (the pentagon home and the sparkles are tells). The set: dashboard grid, building, clipboard, wrench, user group, chart-in-square, bulb with sparkle, sidebar toggle, calendar with dots, bell, sliders, clock, thermometer, droplet, alert triangle, dollar circle, arrow up-right, chevrons and plus. Gray in the sidebar, ink inside white bordered tiles on card headers and stone tiles in list rows, white on the black active pill and the blue AI tile, and apricot on the peach sidebar tile.

  • Grid lines / patterns

Diagonal hatching is the signature pattern. Thin gray lines fill the backlog band of the range chart, orange lines mark the hovered segment, faint white lines stripe every status block, and a tiny hatched square serves as the "Backlog gap" legend key. The honeycomb of the hex map is a second geometric pattern.

  • Device or browser frames

A flat warm-gray (#D9D9D7) rounded bezel surrounds the app like a tablet or monitor with no camera or buttons, and the app canvas sits inside with its own large radius. No browser chrome or window dots.

SubtleFrom stills; motion is inferred from cues

  • implied
    Chart hover scrub

Oct 15 is caught mid-hover: a dashed crosshair, dots morphing into larger rounded squares, the hatch around that day recolored orange, the axis label turned ink, and a tooltip card with that day’s values.

  • implied
    Sidebar collapse

The toggle icon beside the brand implies an animated collapse to an icon rail.

  • implied
    Dropdown popovers

The date range pill and the "Weekly" control both have chevrons, which implies popovers that open in place.

  • implied
    Notification badge

The red dot on the bell implies live updates and possibly a pulse when new events arrive.

  • implied
    Keyboard focus

The "/" hint in the search pill implies a shortcut that moves focus into search.

    Card navigation

The circular arrow-up-right buttons and "View all >" imply hover states and transitions to detail pages.

08Copy

Good morning, Nizam

Sunday, 18 October · 23 urgent work orders need attention

Create work orderView all
Tone
Warm and plain: a first-name greeting, then concrete counts and consequences. The AI copy is specific and quantified ("likely to fail within 21 days, based on 4 pressure drops since Oct 2"), and the cost tiles frame a decision ("$6,400 If it fails" against "$1,150 Service now").

09Style

A calm, premium operations cockpit: warm stone neutrals, a black pill CTA and print-like hatched charts make a maintenance backlog feel under control.

Accessibility
Primary text is near-black on near-white (about 15:1), and the large numerals are very legible. The secondary gray #6B6A6D passes (about 4.8:1 on the canvas, 5.3:1 on white). The lighter #87878A used for stat labels, axis ticks, placeholders and activity meta does not (about 3.6:1 on white, 3.2:1 on the canvas). The green "+3 pts" (about 3.4:1) and red "+3 this week" (about 4.0:1) are borderline; tinted chips use dark text and pass. Status dots always carry a text label and the block bar has a numbered legend, but the hex tile map is color-only with no legend in view, and blue serves both the Resolved series and the New status. Hatching adds a non-color cue to the chart areas. No focus states are shown; the "/" search hint suggests keyboard support.

10Takeaways

Works

  • The hatching carries meaning: the hatched band is the backlog gap, and the color switch to orange marks the hovered segment.
  • The data adds up: 38 + 54 + 45 = 137 open orders (matching the KPI and the sidebar badge), 97 completed matches Resolved, and Oct 15 2026 is a Thursday as the tooltip says.
  • Colors follow meaning, not direction: a cost increase is red and SLA attainment is green.
  • The AI insight is framed as a decision with numbers: failure risk, cost if it fails and cost to service now.
  • Three surface tiers (stone canvas, white card, stone inset tile) give depth without shadows.
  • The same black pill marks the active nav item and the primary CTA, which ties location and action together.

Steal this

  • A range chart that fills the gap between two series with diagonal hatching and recolors the hatch around the hovered point.
  • A proportional block bar: rounded rectangles sized to counts with faint white diagonal hatching, plus a 2×2 legend with large right-aligned numbers.
  • A hexagon tile map for portfolio or fleet health, with empty cells in a pale neutral (#EEEEEC).
  • Card header recipe: a 40px bordered icon tile, a medium title and exactly one right-side action, with a full-width hairline below.
  • Borderless KPIs with an annotation pill on the number’s baseline: "23 urgent", "+6.4% vs prior", "94% within SLA".
  • A greeting header whose subline carries the day’s single most important count.
  • Activity rows with two-level status: a priority pill stacked above a workflow-status dot.
  • A circular "/" keyboard hint inside the search pill.

Watch out

  • The light gray #87878A labels and the green delta text fall under 4.5:1.
  • The hex map shows no legend in the crops, so its meaning depends on color alone.
  • The range chart has no y-axis or values outside the tooltip, so magnitude cannot be read without hovering.
  • Colors are overloaded: blue means Resolved, New and AI, and orange means In progress, at-risk and hover highlight.
  • The shots are tight crops, so the lower dashboard, empty states and responsive behavior are not shown.
  • Fine hatching can shimmer or turn muddy on low-DPI screens and in small sizes.
